Pimocard Pimobendan Chewable Dog, Cats, from Corise Healthcare (Swiss Biocare), are veterinary Cardiac Care mediCations used to treat dilated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs. Pimobendan acts as both a positive inotrope (increasing the strength of heart contractions) and a vasodilator (widening blood vessels), improving Cardiac Care output and reducing symptoms of heart failure. It works by increasing calcium sensitivity in heart muscle cells and inhibiting phosphodiesterase III, which helps manage mild to severe CHF due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy.
